Portable Radio - Cassette Recorder Stereo Ghettoblaster, made by Telefunken in 1978, Canadian export model, in Mint and all-working Condition
In a Nutshell
Summer is coming - it's only a question of when - when you want to show off on the Beach with this 33 years young man with the old famous Telefunken name "Bajazzo"
Introduction:
The "Bajazzo" family of Telefunken's high-end portables is one of the longest living series. There are over 70 models, built between 1950 (4- and 5-tube radios) up to 1980/81 (ref.1). The German word "Bajazzo"’ means "buffon" or "clown", or in Italian "Pagliaccio", and is the German title of Ruggero Leoncavallo's opera "I Pagliacci" and the title of a 1897 novel by 22 years old Nobel laureate Thomas Mann, author also of Zauberberg (Magic Mountain). The 1978 Bajazzo Stereo CR8000 has it all, stereo (also extreme), all bands, FM up to 108 Mc, automatic stop cassette recorder with counter and 2-micro mixing, easy to read illuminated dial, 5W amplifier with 4 speakers, in short - a superb Telefunken audio design. And so service friendly: a few easy to find screws and all four sides of the radio are freed at the same time. Please have a look at item #12 (a 1936 Telefunken 686WK) in the price list to appreciate innovative tradition of Telefunken.
